Some Tips for Financial Spring Cleaning |

- If you have more than two credit cards,
consolidate your debt to one card or get a
consolidation loan and keeping the card with the
lowest interest rate active. Remember to keep the
credit limit at an amount that you could pay off in
a month or two in order to keep the interest low.
- Call your credit card company and negotiate a lower interest
rate
- Call your utility companies and see if they have any
new offers or promotions that would be advantageous to
you.
- Have a yard sale and get rid of all the unnecessary
clutter and put the funds towards your biggest debt.
- Sell bigger ticket items through an online auction
house.
- Go over your budget and re-evaluate your monthly
payments. See where you can increase your debt payments
to clear them up quicker and how you can pay yourself
more.
- If you have not started a Rainy Day Fund then do so.
An RDF is a savings account that you set up for yourself
that will cover you should some unfortunate circumstance
befall you and your income is temporarily stopped. (i.e.
job loss)
- Make sure your wills and powers of attorneys are up to
date and reflect any changes in your life
