Hogan is a hero for women with financial problems |
|
|
With the help of financial coach Ayse Hogan, W Network
tosses a financial lifeline to women who have gotten
themselves into a hole in the series “Maxed Out,” airing
Tuesday, Feb. 21. Hogan, who began her career 20 years
ago as a bookkeeper, says that a person’s
characteristics directly reflect how they deal with
their money.
“Anybody can write a budget – you don’t
have to be a genius for that. But why isn’t (the budget)
working? I need to find out the ‘why’ because if I can
stop the bleeding, as I call it, then the budget will
work.” |

Each episode features Hogan whipping a woman in
financial shape. “Because it’s on W Network, we try to
make sure there’s a woman in the equation…so we have
everything from single women to separated women to
married women to (couples) living together to whole
families. The stories are very entertaining and you get
a lot of information out of them because they’re very
relatable. But if makes you think.” However, it’s not a
quick fix, she adds. Like any program, getting one’s
finances in order takes time, which is why she follows
up with the women after the show has finished filming.
“A lot of them are
e-mailing , asking me questions even though the show’s
done. They’re hungry for more, and they want to take it
further. I’ve got to help them,” Hogan says.
“Just looking at my crew, they’re like, ‘I’m starting to
invest all my money in this and that because you’re
freakin’ me out!’" she adds with a laugh. |
