Ways To Improve Your Credit Score

- Make very sure that you pay all of your
accounts on time, this is imperative. You may
think that a couple of late payments will not effect
your score, guess what... it does.
- Do not allow the money that you owe to become to
high, make sure your credit remains at a balance
that you can comfortably maintain and keep the
balance owing on your cards low.
- Do not switch from card to card, this
does not bode well. The longer you have a card and
it is in good standing, the better for your credit
score.
- Do not get more credit that you need and
don't get cards you're never going to use.
- Be familiar with your credit report...
you can obtain your credit report online for a very
small fee through Equifax and through Trans Union, I
suggest you pull both because information that is on
one may not be on the other. Pull your credit
report at least twice a year not only to verify
accuracy but to see how the steps you are taking is
improving your score.
- Go over your credit report with a fine
tooth comb and make sure all information is correct,
your name, address, where you work and of course all
of your credit information. Call the appropriate
credit company and question anything that does not
look correct.
- Take care of any outstanding balances
that is keeping your credit score down... sometimes
it just easier to pay your disputed debts than to
try and prove a point... proving a point will not
improve your credit score, it will keep you
down. If you feel that strongly, its time to do
something about it because it is not going to
go away for a long, long, long time.
- Note your 3-digit credit score (if your
mid 700 and up, you have excellent credit and if
your score is below the 600, this might explain why
you
don't get any credit)
